Winter Morning

Frosted lawns sparkle like diamond strewn fields
Vehicles huddle in their icy shrouds Cheeks slapped red by frigid air
Every breath a tiny cloud
Fingers wrapped in gloves' fraudulent warmth
Naked trees bend laden boughs
Pale sun labors through opaque, iron-clad sky
And struggles to pierce winter morning pall.
