Glory Tree

The vein runs deep, ingrained throughout
A networked creature
Not even floating, just alive
All under sky and water mellow
No need to dig, or hunt or dive

The leaf gives dignity to wealth,
a sleepy translucence, stagnant
Victoria does not hear or see,
but is one with the glory tree
I hear a question - 'where is she? '

The absently doting pad is here
Earthy rain jewels at the surface
Not in the land of hungry selves
The wax is pure in bayous low
Not in the running stream of elves

Victoria Amazonica
A beautiful enigma
