I saw on a chain-linked fence
A great washing-line divide
Of raucous colour

slumber city,
old theatre lights sallow
unaffordable attractions
tat shops in decadent london,
...

I stopped wearing a watch
when I realised I was counting time.
Such a heavy thing
to wear on your wrist
