To honor my battle with breast cancer,
My sister got a surprise pink ribbon tattoo.
And in my front hall where a mirror watched pink fall off of me
The year before she flashed this lightning strike
And I heard that lightning doesn't strike twice
But her ink twist struck scalpel lines through my storm-cell memories.
I couldn't breathe.
See, corporate cancers don't cure cancer.
But now her slipknot answer was now more
permanent than my malignancy.
Back in 1992, Estée Lauder and
Self Magazine were hand-in-hand.
