Eugene H. Craig Poems

Commandante Fidel

His songs are of the mountains and his people
Who forged him as their steel sword
When together they unbent their knees
And cast aside the foreign lord. His poems are of the palm tree and pine

For Carl Sagan

I - part of an ancient star, primal atom of dust
Swirling clouds of gases unseen, creator of this living crust
Spinning protons, electrons, neutrons - from cell to galactic whirl
From new-born stars to black holes in unending, infinite swirl.

The Dawn

The Dawn whispered a breeze
Played golden red melody
And peeked through the trees
It sang a song of eons past
