In Dreams; In Life

It was a beautiful starry night
It filled my heart with such delight
That thoughts of you filled my head
As I slowly drifted asleep in my bed

Then I began to dream
Of me sitting by a peaceful, flowing stream
With grass so thick, soft and green
That nothing for miles could be seen

I stared at the deep blue sky
And could only see images of you and I
Holding on to each other tight
As we danced in the pale moonlight

The night was gone
As day broke at dawn
But we were still dancing
And in every way, romancing

As I reached to pick a flower
We heard the sounds of an approaching shower
We began to frantically run
As the clouds covered the summer sun


As the rain began to fall
We heard the sounds of the wild call
And the birds took to flight
And flew far out of sight

The rain created a mist
In which we stood and kissed
Our hearts began to race
As we stood in such a serene place

The time was right in every way
And there probably was no better day
So as the sun broke through above
I held you tight and made sweet love

We both then reached our climax
And rolled onto our backs
And watched the setting sun
As if there would be no other one

I’m then awake in my bed
The same thoughts of you in my head
Could this be a dream come true
The love I dreamt of me and you
