Fasi Ibrahim Poems

I looked for you in each face I saw
In one fast-flowing mass of men
Soaring height, timid and piercing eyes
Slow and Lazy steps, gliding through the crowd
...

The twinge and hurt inside me
Weakening all rays of delight
I strive not to crash and burn
Yet your thoughts are daggers

I See You

I looked for you in each face I saw
In one fast-flowing mass of men
Soaring height, timid and piercing eyes
Slow and Lazy steps, gliding through the crowd

In a quick glance I noticed your hair
Thin and neat, black as the night
But its your hands that I saw, and I knew
I see you; my love, my life

I looked on, but no one owned your style
Your smile, the aura you brought with you
No one had your class of charm

You were faultless, precise, and beautiful
In dismay I watched, as you walked away
Everything I craved and nothing I deserve
