Francesca Marriner Poems

The mask is on;
my identity hidden.
Mountains cover my
happiness,
...

Your eyes see through into my soul.
I long to be your only one,
the one you want to hold.

Francesca Marriner Biography

Well growing up i have always loved poetry from querky funny poems to Jabberwocky. My love for poems has always been innate and ever present, but when it came to studying poerty at GCSE i felt that i did not have the chance to enjoy the poetry of Armitage and Duffy but that it was a struggle and necessity to study it. Now at 17 i am currently studying for my A levels. In English i am reading Plath and Larkin poetry which has reawakened my love for the verse. This enthusiasm and love especially by Sylvia Plath and by having a fabulous English teacher, has encouraged me to write poetry i hope people will enjoy. Also my father Anthony Marriner who has also submitted poetry to this site has written some beautiful poems that have inspired me to follow in his legacy.)

The Best Poem Of Francesca Marriner

Confidence

The mask is on;
my identity hidden.
Mountains cover my
happiness,
fleshy and death ridden.

The submarine has descended
its radar bleeps no more,
I feel it's emotion, confused
in a submissive existence,
but i am not alone.

I long for love.
It is all that I require.
That special type of love
unique like a gliding dove.

My flower shall
bloom.
My heart will be accepted.
'Your time will come' they say,
but when? Is it my
dying day?

I shall wait.
