The Winter mostly cold and dry
And little rainfall in July
And not much water in the creek and drain
By the old Town of Castlemaine.

He used to train greyhounds for a living though that was a long time ago
The dogs he trained were grade race dogs only for the top races they were too slow
He never trained a big race winner top class dogs to say the least few
And the trainer only as good as his dog is so happens to be very true.

'Tis something I learned early in my life when I was in Primary School
That those who are cruel to animals to humans can be cruel
For cruelty does not have borders as a weapon of power
And the one who is brave with a gun without it easily cower.

In the World of Literature his will never be a renowned name
And though he may be a Poetaster allow him to dream of fame
He writes as good as some of the so called poets some credit he is due
He is as good as most if the truth be known for poets as we know are few.

When you gobble with the turkeys with eagles you cannot soar
One wiser far than I said that and 'tis one you've heard before
The Judas sheep up the slaughter ramp to slaughter his own kind lead
But he will not die for he is one the butchers tomorrow need
...

I do not want to know where you came from or your Hometown or your home place
And I do not want to know of your religion or your tribe or culture or race
Or if you came from a near Nation or to get here you did travel far
The only thing I wish to know of you is what sort of a person you are?

Sing old John a song of his Hometown of Fishguard in Wales by the sea
The Town he left when he was in his mid twenties in the Spring of nineteen sixty three
With his wife Jenny and their only child Garett who then only had just turned four
They went south to sunny Austrealia thousands of miles from their Homeshore.

Old Sammy who lives on the east side his new wife is younger than his son
And like they say money speaks every language and money for him wonders have done
It has won for him another young woman for him she is wife number five
And he over seventy and unhealthy and lucky for to be alive.

'Tis said we only dislike in others what in ourselves we see
And of the inhibitions we grew up with some of us never may be free
But there ought to be far more to life than the Me, Myself and I
Though those three will be with us until the day we die.

Oh you who walked upon the sea and changed water to wine
I wish you'd change the weather now and give us more sunshine
The chilly winds have risen to a cold and icy storm
And I huddle by the fireplace in order to keep warm.
