From the land of the living they may be long gone
But the great poets of Sliabh Luachra their legacies live on
They recited their verses at the crossroads near Rathmore
And their fame is even living yet far from Hibernia's shore

For World peace and harmony it has been an awful year
From the Cities of Iraq of death each day we hear
To invade other Countries is always a mistake
And gives rise to death and suffering and grieving and heart-break

In our destiny we do not have a say
For each of us there is a final day
And then we will be gone forever more
But life on Earth goes on from shore to shore,

The old bloke he has heaps of money but with his money he is mean
And he will not spend his money on comfort and time is against him 'twould seem
It is said that he is worth millions but he counts every penny he spend
But little respect for a miser and he is one without a friend.

He went back home to Italy to live out his twilight years
And in the pub party for him his friends farewelled him in tears
In this great Southern Country he made new friends every day
But Dino he has gone back home to greet the flowers of May,

A pleasant Summer morning not too warm or too cool
And lovely Jane the writer sits on a timber stool
In her garden in the sunshine her shoulder length blond hair blowing in the breeze
All around the house sparrows chirping on the bushes and the trees.

To the flaws of others so many seem blind
We do make great heroes of ordinary kind
Tis from the impressionable that legends are grown
Some do not seem for to have lives of their own

Some can drink a lot of alcohol and still seem sober and sedate
Whilst some only after a few drinks tend to grow to an aggressive state
And act in a manner unbecoming as if they did have a screw loose
To some alcohol is just a drink and to others tis lunatic juice,

There is a simple principle by which we ought to live
For to learn how to receive we must learn how to give
And in our dealings with others we must always be fair
Though many shady characters in the bigger World out there
...

Many people of the World's greatest religions one common thought do share
They think that they can save their souls from hell by the simple act of prayer
But if there is a God and an afterlife they surely have got it wrong
For God should be for everyone and everyone to God belong.
