A Rose Trampled On The Ground

if you shoot me down, ill just get up,
and wipe your shells off of my aeropostale t-shirt.....
you kick me when im down,
and you never see me frown.....
but there ill continue to lay,
like A ROSE TRAMPLED ON THE GROUND.........

you speak your words so vividly,
so fluently...
but youll never see me flinch,
you cant get through to me.....
see, i figured that if i stay to me,
then ill never have to walk around your sins with my feet......
and of course ill never have to bear the burden of this whole world,
cause with everyday that passes, a petal falls from my bud......

so silently, i write my thoughts down in my mind
retracing my past and trying to buy back time...
because ive gone through too many flowers
and broken all my stems
that keeps me from blooming into the rose that i am..

and i lay there motionless,
jus bud and stem, no pedals left,
a rose trampled on the ground,
left there for so long, im colorless....
but there i have time to reconstruct myself and find energy,
to gather all of pedals and piece them back to me..

ive been shot down for years,
and cried too many tears..
i cannot stay down,
withering from your spills..
but yet you shoot me down with every bullet ever made,
and still i rise as maya angelou said..

so when i arise again, like the phoenix from the ashes,
ill be able to adapt to your rude comments..
and i wont need you to water my roots
or trim my stem
because ill never be your trampled rose ever again! ! !
