60 Seconds Of Bliss

just when I started living,
the world tells me to obey the rules
they say it is bad timing,
& an independent life is for only fools

its all about the money
parents, friends & acquaintances sing the same song
I think its downright funny
emotions bought with money, the same story all along

I'm tired of these hypocrites & their smile so smug
they raise their eyebrow when I give someone a hug
what do they know what I feel
gutting my crimson heart as they make their deal

a sip of alcohol, a puff of a cigarette
along comes a call from home, telling me I'm late
do they know how late they are?
I keep my silence like a statue made of stone

asphyxiated by the system & society they are
in my 60 seconds of bliss, I live fully... but alone.
