Cross On A Hill
On a hill, a cross
a scarlet sky, silhouettes;
To the world, a witness
where man’s sins, beset.
Covering, the land
a red, orange sky;
Bathing Calvary
where One, had to die.
Black, the cross
against the sky, reminds;
A battle for souls
fought for, mankind.
A stain, not seen
the beams, it covers;
Blood, from One
for our sins, did suffer.
Endured, our Saviour
great agony and pain;
For receptive hearts
He died, their gain.
The cross, on a hill
old and rugged, they sing;
Flowed, Christ’s blood
conquered, death’s sting.
