Born in Jamalpur, Bihar, in the year 1968, my childhood has been spent in fun and frolic amongst the beautiful scenic landscape of Ranchi. The town has given me a lot, including my best friend and life partner-my wife. An engineer by qualification I have been working in the field of minerals and metallurgy for twenty five years now. Writing and cooking are two passions that I pursue during my spare time to cope up with the pressures of work-life. Currently based in Kolkata, I can be reached at gdutta17@gmail.com.)
A Lazy Goan Afternoon By The Beach
On the beach, a bunch of boys
With a football, they toy!
Kicking it high in the air,
And following it, run like a hare!
The ball is blown
by the strong sea breeze!
And travels in air as it please!
It plops on the waves in the sea,
Bobbing on the crest, as if in glee!
A few of the boys make a dash,
Hitting the waves with a splash!
With arms swiftly cutting the water,
Before the tide steals and takes it farther!
The sea water shimmered,
its surface disturbed by the breeze!
I watch, it feels like heaven!
And the ship, leaving harbour
sails into the red horizon!
