Gracian Balendran Poems

One Summer Evening,
I see my sweet girl,
playing under and old
apple tree,
...

I am lost for words and
Don’t know what to say
Everything seems so confusing
I am so confused, I don’t even
...

I have many secrets to tell
Oh where shall I begin?
What shall I tell?
Secrets! Secrets! Secrets!
...

I have many stories,
Many stories to tell
For my heartaches
And my head moans
...

Oh I feel that there is something
Something getting away from me
Where could it go, though I feel it right within me?
Yet I don’t see it,
...

A barren railway station
Rusted are the rails,
Which once carried the
Superior locomotives on earth.
...

With her eyes closed
She lay there on my lap
Everything in her world
Is calm
...

The Old Apple Tree

One Summer Evening,
I see my sweet girl,
playing under and old
apple tree,
White clouds floating
the rays of the sun
reflecting her beauty
She swings joyfully,
my heart leaps
each time I see her smile.
She is delighted to see me
from afar.
Waving to me
her face brightens
and my heart lightens
We hold hands and
walk through the woods
down the river bank,
We talk under the moonlight
lazing long into the night
until I watch my sweet girl
fall asleep on my arm
as I sit under that old apple tree.
