God Loves Me

God loves me
this I know
without a doubt
as only God can love.

No human law
no human pact
can dictate
how God will act.

No human being
swear as he might
can love me more
than God whose sight
Sees into my soul
and loves me still
despite each mole
of evil blight.

You do not scare me
with your tantrums
your threats to leave me
all alone.
God will always be beside me
until the day
