Solitude

Solitude is a well-known friend of mine.
It is there when I'm in the midst of a crowd,
And when I find myself on my own.
And when the day is done,
And when I lay me down,
It gently closes my eyes,
And stills my mind.
It guards me through the night,
Is still there with the morning's light.
