A Letter To Me
a letter to me,
a letter to the me that thinks she's not good at the thing she loves most. the me that feels like she has been running for the longest time but hasn't seemed to move as far as an inch. the me that goes home to a broken home. the me that feels too insecure about her stomach to wear a tank top without pulling a flannel over. the me that dealt with the pain of criticism every day after school. the me that never felt like enough. the me that feels such a strong need to make other people feel happy that she forgets where her actions will put her. the me that only gets 5 hours of sleep each night because she's working so hard to reach her goals. the me that can never seem to put herself first. the me that over thinks the littlest of things. the me that doesn't want to put her own children through the pain she felt growing up. the me whose social anxiety gets in the way of enjoying a friday night like a normal teenager. the me who doesn't know how to deal with the rush of anxiety that races through her daily. the me who craves loves and affection from others solely because she lacks the idea of self-love. the me whose expectations are so high when reality hits she beats herself up inside because she is the one who let herself down. i've got something to tell you... don't give up on your true self. don't be ashamed of your past. keep your head up.
