Hannah Lawhon Poems

When the world is so cold and you don't know what to do,
People overdosing around you like it's the new to do.
Children losing parents out of the blue,
Wondering where they are but it's not anything new.
...

It's still early days but you've got my heart,
And I know that this is just the start,
Because from now on and forevermore,
I will love you, cherish you, and always adore.

To love is to share life together
to build special plans just for two
to work side by side
and then smile with pride

Now that you're gone I don't know what to do,
You were always here to help me pull through,
All the things you used to say,
Like the day you said you'd be here every step of the way,

Cold World

When the world is so cold and you don't know what to do,
People overdosing around you like it's the new to do.
Children losing parents out of the blue,
Wondering where they are but it's not anything new.
Walking through the park and seeing needles on the ground,
Always thinking about what the hell is really going around.
Try to help but they continue to test,
And the next day on WSAZ you see its time to lay them to rest.
Deaths everyday from this scary drug,
No one realizes how big that hole is that they dug.
Hard to think back when this place was halfway clean,
Looking out your window just to see someone lean.
Get yourself together before it's too late,
Don't need your family thinking about your death date.
See that there's love from everyone,
Even heaven above.
Just open your eyes and see where you stand,
There's hope everywhere you just need to open your hand.
