The sweet, hollow musk;
the heavy cloud of sweetened rain
reaches my nose once again
as I turn on my heels to see if you're there.

Soaring sounds in symmetry
speak to souls in silent sanctuary.
Songs and sighs send shivers
down the spines of saved and sinner,

The sweet, hollow musk;
the heavy cloud of sweetened rain
reaches my nose once again
as I turn on my heels to see if you're there.
Turn into a memory.

I feel your arms holding me
as my body disintegrates like dust
into nothingness.
Oblivion in your eyes –
Your dead, hazel eyes
projecting finality and end.

Every time that suffocating freedom
touches me, I flinch.
I shy.
I close.
Fear bubbles up into my throat
as my heart drops into my toes.
Butterflies flying, flapping powder wings.

At the tip of your finger
on the barest reaches of my aura
I feel you
I long for you
for the strength of your arms, your gentle hands
the curve of your neck, the dip at your throat
where you sprayed your cologne
where I closed my eyes and smelled you there
before I saw you.
That soft, careful heaven
every motion sent my way…
When you closed me in your arms again
Wrapped yourself around me....

Let me feel what you felt
when our bodies intertwined
and our minds stopped colliding.
You held my soul inside my shell
as your shirt turned a darker shade of
white at your shoulder.
Cradling me,
comforting me
with those blissfully rising, invisible feathers...
And I breathed in ecstasy once more.
