Irhan Jubica Poems

1.

Now it is late
late

to start
and to finish
...

The sun is blinded
by the dirty words
exchanged between the days
and the usurping years
...

It has cost me dear
to wrest my solitude from God
Alone, death saves me from insanity
Alone, I am not God
- but God goes on his knees begging
to become like me
...

Unfinished dream
of returning to the world of flowering
the sand is dead
...

Now it is late
late

to start
and to finish

It is late to love
and to hate

There are so few things
from when I was a little boy
so few
to wrap in a wizened
apple-skin
