I peer below through painted clouds
As the world slides 'neath my gaze.
And rolling over see fields of stars
Undimmed by smoke or haze.
Never before have I heard non-sound
(I've switched my radio off).
At last I'm alone in my silent waltz
"Cross Heavens treading soft.
I think not of the orbits left
Or time I may remain.
Only of Blue below and Black "beyond"
Where all will never change.
And I cry inside at my final loss
As the retros start to roar.
For I'm going home to Earth below
To sail here-nevermore.
