In the shining lights of this cold crowded city
where there are lots of deaths but no sympathy,
I saw a woman, who didn’t know the word “dignity, ”
and a man who died bravely just for a celebrity,

The woman in front of me
Coughs like she has pneumonia.

I move to the back of the car.
...

I let go of the poem that just came to my mind
(Despite the fact that it could turn out to be my masterpiece)
I let go of the sharp pencil and my neat, clean sheet of paper.
