James E. Dunham Poems

There are far too many days here
that seem to take their time
Shadows never seem to pass me by
though they appear to stop on a dime.
...

I am able and strong
to each of my days and peaceful eves,
to strike my flaming of spirit
and ignite what ever I wish
...

There are days when many things in our lives
clearly appear to get the best of us.
There may not seem to be a single hope in sight
until we put our hopes in trust.

Soft As A Rose

There are far too many days here
that seem to take their time
Shadows never seem to pass me by
though they appear to stop on a dime.
A day seldom ends its hours
that your beauty is not in my thoughts
I long for the time I am with you again
and regret this time I have bought
There are nights here that are quiet
and finally put to peace.
Moons will come and moons will go,
but my dreams of you will never cease.
since last I saw your face
as soft as a rose and its petals
and gentle in its grace.
