James Fanthorpe Poems

for all this another breath waits
for worthless pain a whisper stalls
with all calm denial emotion pauses
time's patience ever lasting
...

shocking reality
lesson learned
slave to lies
first sight earned
...

savaged i've been
by the shame of thruth
hurt buried too deep
for shovels to reveal
...

she looks with glass eyes
my endless depth not apparent
plain is my front
deep is my real
...

love me i'm needy
look opon me i'm vain
peace eludes me
without trace of pain
...

full is my weak red heart
although pitiful is it's advice
wisdom tendered
but a roll of the dice
...

hope survives all sorrow
faith revels in battle
vanity looks back with glee
lust breaks all ties with love
...

to many times hope has decieved me
it's attitude i resent
it's careless abandon fills me with rage
where once dreams have been spent
...

I've sought, I've chased, I've willed to me
Gains more soulful than monetary

I've pondered, I've perused, I've Longed to see
...

Past so raw now finessed by time
more and more apparent that no improper shortcut exists
Only by passage of time can the skill set develop
or more truthfully can only now be accessed
...

Everything so beautiful through mood tempered sight
Such simple pleasure in all things no matter how trivial
Hope and excitement, opportunity galore
At last a chance to evoke pride from those who's admiration I so crave
...

The poem is original
The poem is mood driven
The poem is inconsistent
The poem is subject to criticism
...

Worst Of Me

for all this another breath waits
for worthless pain a whisper stalls
with all calm denial emotion pauses
time's patience ever lasting
hearts last word exhausted
my worthless hope lies redundant
my youthful confidence shattered
truth smashes my pitiful dreams
this i must admit to have become
an honesty amongst lies
a deserved end
