It Wasn'T Me

So lonely I've been
Without a special friend
Someone to hold
To whisper the passions of my heart
This pain is uncontrolled tearing me apart

There she goes
The angel of my dreams
With someone special that she loves
That someone unfortunately isn't me

Words come to mind
Yet none I ever say
I'm a fool on my part
For feeling this way
Wanting someone so much
But never saying what I need to say

Love is a wonderful thing
Bringing hope where there is none
Bad memories and nightmares are forever undone

When I see her everything is alright
My heart soars and my dreams come alive
I wish she'd feel that way about me
Yet she's happy with the one she loves
I only wish that was me
