Thief

You should have never taken
something that belonged to me.
The item can't be replaced,
can't be found in a store.

I never granted permission,
never knew it was of interest.
Yet you forced your will,
upon a fragile innocent soul.

Found myself scared and shaking,
too scared to tell a soul.
Young, confused, and battered,
I kept the truth deep inside.

Years of being different and sad,
I blamed myself for what you stole.
I remember the threats you made,
causing me to never tell.

Now I am older and smarter,
with more courage and wisdom.
It wasn't me that was different,
it was you all along.

Your thievery wasn't a great plan,
it was a opportunity of deception.
I will admit you had me fooled,
deception was a sign of your illness.

I now hold the power,
that you thought you owned.
I own the power of truth,
you want to live with your lie.

Fear has left the building,
you will never control me.
I found a way to rebuild,
my scared fragile soul.

I feel sorry for you,
you will always live with your crime.
A tormented soul is all you have,
for I have taken back what's mine!
