Broken Promises

All these broken promises and somehow,
They all lead back to you.
All your broken promises haunt me
All I can think about is how you lied,
About everything.
You told me that you could never
Stop loving me.
You promised me
That you would never leave
Me,
But you left me, all alone.
Why did you do that?
Was I not enough?
I keep asking myself what I did wrong,
Wondering why I wasn't enough
For you.
All these broken promises haven't gone away,
They are always with me.
No matter how hard I try,
They just never leave,
It's like they're trapped somewhere I call
My head.
They never fail to attack me at my worst,
They always flood me with your words.
Sometimes it feels like I'm being suffocated,
I feel trapped by the words you once told me,
The soothing lies you fed me,
And the soft sound from your lying lips.
All these broken promises,
And somehow the roots come from
You.
