I am from pavements,
from Hula Hoops and jump ropes.
I am from the row home caught midway
between 55th and 56th.
I am from the lone oak tree,
the rare tulip
that buds among concrete.
I am from music and family dinners,

I am from Irish blarney and English reserve.
