Currently residing in Lubbock, Texas, Jennifer Hanners has written songs since childhood. Inspired by her father, Jennifer performed onstage since the age of 8. Her preference, however, is to be 'behind the scenes' producing and writing. Her first CD featured a compilation of country songs. Her second CD was written to benefit a non-profit children's charity founded by Hanners; all proceeds funded school districts with a high percentage of economically-disadvantaged students. Hanners currently writes country, jazz, and rock for artists performing across the nation. On this site, Hanners offers some of her favorite lyrics. All lyrics are copyrighted.

First verse:
These steps I take are not in vain. There is a purpose to this walk…to my pain.
This road I travel is uncertain but I will not change my path…just ‘cause I’m afraid.

When you look in the mirror, what do you see? Who is she, looking back?
Do you see a princess, do you see a star? Do you point out everything you lack?
Let me tell you what I see and let me show you who is she and let me speak because I know who you are…

They say there will come a moment when everything’s right…stars are aligned.
I felt it happen. The moment we met.
They say, “You’ve got to have strength…you’ve got to have faith…and time heals all wounds, ” and I try so hard not to forget.

I AM SCARED TO MOVE…
I CAN’T CATCH MY BREATH.
I TREMBLE INSIDE WITH THE THOUGHT OF MY NEXT STEP.
