Saving Grace

I'm trapped in a cave,
A cave devoid of light.
Out there is something I crave,
But it has been stripped from my sight.
I could try and be brave,
But that'd only be seen as a slight.

Embraced by the cold,
Warmed by hate.
Even with gold,
There are things you can't create.
That's what they've sold,
But would it also make me feel great?
The things I've been told,
Would it be wrong if I deviate?

Restrained by a chain,
It rattles as I move.
Steps seen with disdain,
My logic is what they reprove.
The splattering of the rain,
A welcome respite from their unending groove.

And as the night was drowned by madness,
Shadows begun to shout.
Sorrow broke out of its harness.
And soon, the candles started to gutter out.
Melted away by sadness,
In its place now resides doubt.

For in a world without light,
Warmth is hard to keep.
And if you don't at least fight,
You may as well just weep.

Now, drain my anger.
Instead, fill me with hope.
Don't mind the danger,
Focus on teaching me how to cope.
Just pull the trigger.
Hold my hand and let's elope.

Jerson Mark Quotes

Most people shuns sadness. They're drunk on happiness, and more often than not, it makes them blind rather than kind.
