I Cannot, Will Not Recant My Love For Thee

I cannot, will not recant my love for thee
The freshness lived in the Eve's of Lives past
These are my rays of sunlight, and my field of gravity;
My memories and reveries forever last.
But when, when, when will you return to me?
My yearning soul burns in my breast like raging fire,
Like a tossing tempest in the darkest sea
The unquenched thirst of my hearts desire.
So often in a daydream, the one I hold so dear
You take me in your arms, gaze deep into my eyes,
And like spring melting snow, away my fear
Winged peace! Lips leak out a breath of sighs.
My soul knows not of dusk nor dawn,
On this crumb of hope, it will feed upon.
