Jody Parker Poems

Another day goes by
and I don't care
...and I don't know why
I saw you standing there
...

War machines battle
On this forgotten place
lost between the anchors of time
I feel the powdery hands of snow
...

You no longer exist
Except in tattered stories
Closed and silent
Their ink slowly fading
...

Short Ended Romance

Another day goes by
and I don't care
...and I don't know why
I saw you standing there
and then you were gone
I'll try not to cry
I'll try to be strong
I'll forget the words you didn't mean
I'll set them afloat,
Burning parchment, paper notes
Sinking under the water of my dreams
Bridges of my memory will slowly fall,
that were formed,
from synapse wires, broken and torn
How I wish I could claw them out
With bared teeth and bone
To forget the moment
I forgot I was alone
