John A. Williams Poems

Look at a raincloud there may be rain,
But closer behind there is sunshine again.
Look at a butterfly its beauty so fair,
And look what it was before it took to the air.
...

What's in a poet's mind?
Does it ever show?
Isn't it beautiful
To let your mind soar
...

A rainbow, gone after the sunshine
And the rain.
A valley with no hill to claim.
A fire under the cauldron

Look Closer

Look at a raincloud there may be rain,
But closer behind there is sunshine again.
Look at a butterfly its beauty so fair,
And look what it was before it took to the air.
Look at a flower and see a new fruit,
Look closer and you'll see the real truth.
Look at the tree leaves brown, yellow and green,
It's nothing without its root though unseen.
Look at a face that is smiling with charm,
Then look deep inside for the heart that is warm.
As sure as the sun rises in the east,
Time waits not for man nor beast.
So get in the saddle put your will to the test,
All you can ask of yourself is the best.
Look closer at life and things will be clear,
The challenge you make! Will be won if you dare.
