Hastening home with the darkening sky looming above
Each step freeing myself from the sand and seaweeds
But the solitary boats strewn on the beach held me
Like a magnet to pause in speechless conversation

Weebling, wobbling ward with her minder in the garden;
With a nonchalant gait a man making his way towards his car;
Perching on a ladder the painter added a new coat to a lamp post;
Whistling a tune the delivery man rattled by on his rusty bicycle;
