John Hybridge Poems

Someday the rivers and lakes will be crystal clear
With abundant fish swimming without care
Where skies will be blue with cumulus clouds
Where eagles fly free in fresh clean air

The Lonely Lady

She sits on a balcony overlooking a park
Her golden hair shimmering in the sunlit glow
With tears in her eyes she gazes below
Couples walking together with children in tow

I've seen the morning calm before the evening storm
And seen the terror in young men's eyes on the battle field
Mere boys turned to men through the horrors of war
Where their last pleasant memories were their senior prom
