John Molloy Poems

Quick Da' here's the bin man
the truck is on the road
you haven't left the bags out
and this week we have a load.
...

The tide to west, the breeze to east
Thinking of my troubles least,
Upon my quay gazing south
A Dublin black, a Northern lout;
...

Remember the sharp brightness
Of the Summer lit chalk walls
Of the house,
The Dandelions we picked
...

Tommy and Jim with gifts of visits rare
do help a day of memory come real,
As tales of Johnny and Mikey to compare
see wounds of my heart to heal.
...

There's a crazy dog on my road
and he doesn't have a name,
He doesn't have a collar
and he seems to be insane.
...

Standing, staring, glaring true
and contemplating what to do,
a fox and I on Parnell's hill
took to stand a moment still;
...

To have such youth
to take the Autumn morn'
with chest abrupt
and soaking soles of dew,
...

An early start to catch the worm
a golden day to fill,
Not far to see the heron - still;
Stiletto poised to kill
...

The streets aren't narrow
for the Mall's so long
the scope's too wide for Granny.
Molly's dead and the fish are frozen,
...

10.

Never again to fade away
The memory of a smile,
The crease upon a hip,
The lips upon a lake
...

To see her walk is near enough
to see her as she is,
A flowing stream that glides along
as fast as as lives;
...

My core, what essence left, is hers;
she has not lost me, just.
I restep my thoughts reminded
Truth is here.
...

Return to me my beaming smile
my hugs and kisses too,
Let's sit again and talk awhile
of all things only you.
...

14.

I'll go, always to your
arms, My cheek to your
breast is all my souls'
desire.
...

Before the gunman
with his shadow fell,
Larry's boys and him
played a bygone tune
...

I don't remember the old
matchstick man
under the bridge
on the boundry wall.

The Bin Man

Quick Da' here's the bin man
the truck is on the road
you haven't left the bags out
and this week we have a load.
Me Ma' said hurry up now
that their going pretty fast,
And if you want your breakfast
you better not be last.
I have the back door open
and the front is open too
So, you better get your cloths on
before me Ma' goes blue.
