Retribution

We stormed into the wilderness
Our hearts raced with adrenalin
We were fearless and raged on
Our spears and arrows dipped in venom
Our daggers sharp and waiting
We were slaves to love under moonlight
Our hearts dauntless and tarnished
Our hands stained... our faces a stone-like
grimace of hatred They laid in wait like the serpent
As we the deluded attacked
Our brothers were opened and rended
The foliage dripped blood
Cries of terror resounded and were
silenced one by one Our withdrawl was frenzied and lunatic
The few remaining ran through the jungle
As thunder crackled and fired and leapt
through the trees
As we raced to our homes, our hearts sank
and we moved with feelings of great imminence
