Two Small Voices

When upon my bed I lay to down rest,
I pray to my Father I have done my best.
Then the morning comes, His voice I hear,
A voice that leads me without fear.
His small voice, whispering wisdom and love.
Feeling his presence from Heaven above.
But then another small voice, finds my ear,
A voice so familiar I shed a tear.
This voice I hear I have known from birth,
But not from Heaven, but here on Earth.
For my mother’s voice, I hear as well,
For in her arms, my heart has dwelled.
Her soft whisper in good times and bad,
Can warm my heart when glad or sad.
For a mother’s love is soft and true,
She knows the heart that beats in you.
I am never alone as I plot my courses,
For I walk my path with two small voices
