The Darkness

I was standing in the Darkness

it seemed to strangle me with it's hands

I gasped for air...but none was there

I had given my life to this fatal tormenting darkness

The life i knew started to crumble at it's very foundation

The walls around me crumbled and as the dust cleared i realized i stood alone

As I stood there i realized i had been tricked into a life of suffering

A life or guilt, shame, and remorse

My life was being squeezed out like water from a sponge

But as I stood there sinking deeper and deeper into what seemed like a dark abyss

I heard a voice and it gave me a choice

Even though I am in my youth

I made a choice for him

He was the father i had reject

The dad I had forsaken

Whose love I had abonded

and guidance I had refused

But he had not forsaken me

Then there came a voice from the sky

And the darkness uttered a piercing scream

And the voice said

'Let go of my son whom I love and adore for he is mine and I am his

And then with that said I began to be lifted from the pit I was doomed to

And rightfully deserved

The Father than said

'I will wipe away all your tears, I will be with you in you triumphs and defeats. For you are my son and throughout your life remember if not anything else.'

You are mine....and I....am yours
