Delivered Yet Not Relieved

They fought for it
Worked hard to deliver
And liberate us from them
Liberation which was later earned
Delivered from the claws of
The hungry lions; the whites
Wanted to molest us
Ruin us, grabbing all
What we had
But later had to leave
Leave and give us the freedom
The freedom we always yearned for
To till our own land
Teach our children our own Culture, traditions and ways
Yes we were relieved of the burden
The burden of being captives
Captives in our own land
Yet these in power take us back there
When the settlers owned everything
Our lands are not ours any more
Bt for the few in power
The tyranny of leadership
From the father, child, grandchild
And the great grandchild
Where has the freedom gone
Freedom of expression
We always say the truth through murmurs
Murmuring in our blankets
That they wont hear us
We are still colonized
The settler ways; Marxism
Neocolonialism…bleh bleh bleh, Name them…
What is there for us
All i know we were delivered
Delivered from the colonizers
But not yet relieved
Relieved from the burden of
Neocolonialism.
