Our Stars

What would happen if the stars went out one by one,
leaving us alone with a star we call Sun,
and at night when we look to the planets above,
would they raise in our hearts this feeling of love

Would they conjure up the face of the girl you adore,
to a mind trapped in silence, searching empore,
in a world drenched in darkness, death very near,
could this love in our hearts conquer our fear.

A walk in the park with the love of your life,
with peace and tranquility, no worries, no strife,
no thoughts of tomorrow, awaiting the night,
in the arms of your loved one, 'neath the Moon's silvery light.

Getting dressed in a flurry, haste has no bounds,
like an eagle on a flight to its old hunting grounds.
a last look in the mirror, does your hair look alright,
then into the game of love, with a moon, shining bright.

One step from the door, a chill grasps your heart,
and threatens to pull all your dreams far apart.
something dreadful has happened, your eyes become blurred,
o my God, am I dreaming, has this really occured.

The night is so cold, like the winter with snow,
the moon is still shining, with a horrible glow,
the truth, like a hammer, drives into your head,
the blackness above, the stars are all dead.

No pinpoints of light shining way up above,
to show you the way to a haven of love.
or lead you home safely on a wild, stormy sea,
or lure you to peace in a lovelife to be.

So tonite go outside and look way up there,
rejoice in the twinkles, show that you care.
raise up your hands, to the beauty succomb,
thank God, in His mercy, for a wonderful Dome
