Julia Grandi Poems

Who are we if we are nothing...
If reason stands a chance against no chance
But opportunity still presents a face
And blithely we appreciate, such fate, and chance and grace...
...

Failure, jaded, suffocating reminiscence...
the pain of time that has been,
and remains a still life memory...
time past will always feel like failing in something.
...

We are two different suns.

The dusk takes you away, shrivelling you over the ocean waves
But i remain a blanket in the clouds.
...

Heavy pang for a twilight year
Where once my hand was taken, and i followed
Leaving behind a trail of naiveté
The trail i pick up now, with the voices of my past
...

Can it be so that every thought has been made
that all our sheets they have been laid
throughout a map of brilliance and time
these words
...

Eagle night and seen by sea
A distant call, in sonnet key
In any moment, place or time
A distant call is sent from high
...

Man made money or money made man,
This is a question of if one can,
Discriminate the sleight of hand,
Recognise the worth of land

Manmade Money Or Money Made Man

Who are we if we are nothing...
If reason stands a chance against no chance
But opportunity still presents a face
And blithely we appreciate, such fate, and chance and grace...

The grace bestowed upon the powerless
One who humbly accepts without care
Then kneels to the ground and remains there
Is something else, but not a gift

Blindness dose not appreciate truth
And truth does not see blindly
What face, a face, of a million faces
Gives - kindly

The paper rolls deep, the coins clinker and shimmer
The shimmer catches the corner of the eye
And the eyes are made complacent
As the ears and voice dissent

From this...
A name can be whispered into a sea of murky water
But who will see the voice
And who will heed the call
While all the eyes are busy watching
The tempestuous affairs of gold

And for every coin there is an agent
One wanting more, and getting none
One taking all and making some
One giving all and getting one
One nothing and one pun

And all come under the same rule of thumb
Blind, deaf and dumb

If we are nothing then who are we
But gifted by the gifted
A murky pool of water
And a sightless image of love

Ms. Grandi, I have sent you a message via poemhunter.com. Have you received it? If possible, do you have an email I could contact you by? My message was this in short: I am a composer and would love to use your text in 'Manmade Money or Money Made Man' for a composition I am writing, to possibly publish and have performed by a capella choir. Please get a reach of me ASAP. My email is kyle.snyder@mnsu.edu. Thank you, Sincerely Kyle Snyder
