A single heartbeat is how long it takes for your eyes to adjust to the light from inside.
A single tear dropping from your eyelashes to your knee while you're curled up in your corner; away from the world; is equal to the velocity of your heart shattering.
Dropping to your knees: a silent plea for hope, but also a welcome for the pain. You want it, but with the next beat of your heart, you also want what was.
I keep an open mind on both, but it seems as if it's come again....
Sighing goes one in one with the plea, though dropping to your knees isn't necessary.
Opening your heart is simple and easy to do, trying to close it back with half of it missing is.....regrettably, the hardest thing you will ever do.
Now as I sit here, I do the math in my head, as I count the seconds it takes for the tears to roll down my cheek.
The variables to this equation are endless. I have no choice but to move on.
So I'm regaining my balance, one step at a time, I can live this life with or without someone being a part of it. It's possible.
It's killing me inside, but that will fade in time.
Start the timer.
