The view from the porch swing is peaceful
The sun captured in the boughs
Of multicolored giants,
Who stand in petrified guard,

I reach out,
Obviously together,
Obviously content,
For you,

Kae O'Remik Biography

Well, what can I say? I am another face in the crowd, another profile on the street. I was born in a small town on the coast of California to a farmer's daughter and to a warrior. An unlikely match, sure. But it works. I found myself in high school, ironically. In running. I have known love once, but when tragedy struck, he was gone. A girl's dream right? To be used but never kept. So I find myself on the trails, in pushing my body to it's limits, because running is the one thing that will never desert me.)

Tributary

The view from the porch swing is peaceful
The sun captured in the boughs
Of multicolored giants,
Who stand in petrified guard,
Over the undulating land of
Mountains partially erased by white glaze,
The work of some universal potter,
Who continually shapes its masterpiece,
Building, then tearing down

Days are growing colder
To the displeasure of some
But in certain areas,
Of the same glacial tundra,
The blaze of long lost summer days
Are contained to pockets of fervency,
Ignited by touch

Late nights are spent dreaming
Remembering, feeling,
And thus avoiding the escape
From this world we all require

A river has interposed the tranquility,
Fragmenting the path that is mine
Wide, one side habitual,
Each rock, each crevice,
Each wooden embrace that arrests the sun
Retained
Its counterpart exotic,
Décor kept behind a velvet curtain
Luring, captivating, curious
And I stand in the middle.

The wake pulls me in two directions
One towards the wonted break that implores
For the image of the other shore
To be cast into oblivion

The latter towards the curtained coast
Where the footprints of a wolf
Dot the sand, shadow the motif of the veil
Bay sweet melody of the night

Despite my firm bearing in the river bed,
The water a conversant home,
I know not where I stand
Unconscious to which title I will assume
Keep lurid nights, tangled limbs, close to heart
And wait
