A Lame Angel

A lame angel, with hands rounded out in search of feathers; with every feather she hopes to fly; with every breath she grows more pale; with every passerby she picks up the fallen; with every unwanted scrap she grows closer; with every passing night winter draws near, but with every bit of joy she smiles as she places the last piece. A vibrant angel, with hands reaching out to the sky in search of others unfledged, with every feather she hopes for them to fly, but with every breath she continues to grow more pale, with every unfledged taking flight she grows closer; with every snowflake she feels them fall onto her as she bestows the last of her feathers, with every final exhale she smiles as the last lame angel took flight.
