Kallol Chakrabarti Biography

I was born in 1950. I started to write from 1966. In fact, I am a writer of prose, including short stories (more than 550) and plays and I have a book of short stories, titled as 'Bhabaghurer Bishoyashoy' from Saptarshi Prakashan. I served in the Railways for 35 years and now retired, and my work goes on a trilogy to complete, based on the political outcomes of the late sixties and seventies. This i do prefer to write in English, but along with in Bengali too but not using any verbs in the Bengali writing. I want to go on writing as long as I will be physically fit.)

In The Deep Of The Sea

In midst of rain
Susana my friend, a girl
Of sixteen years in blue
And on a pink sweater,
Because of the cold,
Merciless, and lashing, still
We feel it is the best time
To climb the hills together,
When the blue smiles and the
Sun sprinkles gold on the wet
Grass, a beautiful afternoon,
She is on the balcony,
Making braid, and I am on a
bi-cycle pedalling for the ascent.
I find again it rains,
She is with me, we are going
From the plain to the hills
To the hills in our dreams.
