Closed Eyes Still See

I closed my eyes
and begun to dream
a place I arise
with a blue theme.

Stars littered the sky
that was painted blue.
I believed I could fly,
just dream and do.

I raised my fist high
and began to rise.
For you see I
don't believe in eyes.

Beautiful bark
and green leaves.
Even when it's dark,
I could see these.

A tree so grand,
above the rest,
layed in a land,
that's not the best.

For some hit the tree,
when blinded by anger;
Some couldn't see
the tree was in danger.

The humans tore
and the Tree cried.
For Man wanted more,
then tree could provide.

Tree was harmed,
by words or by fist,
Man was armed,
buried weapons to the wrist.

Man not pleased,
scratched the face,
The Tree was seized
in a wrong place,

The Tree was scratched
No longer a tree,
it was matched
by a non being.

For how could man
hurt something so bad,
to harm it than
to love it mad.

A scar like a trench,
buried in the face.
Life he clench,
and tried to chase.

I opened my eyes
In the tree's place
Was a dog only three,
scarred in the face
No longer how much I hide,
the dog is there.
Wherever I find
I avoid my eyes to not stare.

Even with closed eyes
I could see,
the lies
given to me.

The dog isn't bad,
he isn't already dead
He is just sad
and underfed

A dog harmed
isn't broken.
He is just armed
for he is heartbroken.

Show a dog love
and he will have heart.
Give a dog a shove,
he will fall apart.
