Stepping off the treadmill,
Time out to look around.
In these moments of contemplation,
I plant my feet on solid ground.
...
Crunching through the forest,
Autumn Leaves beneath my feet.
With the smell of s'mores cooking,
Such a delightful tasty treat.

Prolific poet, having written 634 poems in the last 3 years. Check me out at tiggerkaz poetry on FB. Poetry is as natural to me as breathing. It has been a real lifesaver, after chronic illness squashed my original plans after obtaining a degree at the age of 49. Many of my poems are of a sociopolitical nature, but I can write other non political poetry as well. I look forward to engaging with other poets on this site.)
In This Moment
Stepping off the treadmill,
Time out to look around.
In these moments of contemplation,
I plant my feet on solid ground.
Staring out my window,
Watching squirrels do their thing.
In the peace of inaction,
My heart cannot help but sing.
Listening to the birdsong,
Such sweet music to my ears.
It's calm and gentle lullaby,
Helps chase away my fears.
Feeling warm and fuzzy,
Troubles seemed to fly away.
I relish in these moments,
Hoping this beautiful vision will stay.
