Footprints pressed in the mud. Turning back is no
longer possible. Looking towards the floor. I refuse
to look at what is in front of me. Closing my eyes.
Afraid of the light around me. My steps match my
heart beats rhythm. If I speed up, I cannot slow
down. I collide with others in the dark. I learn
more about the meaning of life. A smile crosses
my face. Another day had passed everyone.
My body doubles. A relative from friend to heart.
My heart beat rises. It becomes harder to avoid
obstacles. A cliff grows in the dark. An obstacle
cannot be avoided. Two holes appear in front of me.
One red, one silver. My head rises upwards.
I divide into three. One part goes through red.
One goes through silver. Yet the last remains
absorbed by the living. The end is always moving
closer and must always come. The road of life
never runs so smooth. Now I question if, what my
thoughts may have known as to be life, was
merely a memory after all.
